Satellite-Based Infrastructure Monitoring

Engineering interpretation of satellite-derived infrastructure movement.

01

Service overview

From displacement measurements to structural understanding.

Ozkan Engineering provides engineering interpretation and assessment of satellite-derived InSAR displacement data for bridges and other critical infrastructure. Our focus is not the processing of satellite imagery, but understanding what measured line-of-sight (LOS) displacement data may indicate about the behaviour and performance of a specific structure.

Satellite InSAR measurements represent displacement along the satellite line of sight and require careful interpretation before they can be related to structural movement. We apply structure-appropriate assumptions and engineering assessment to interpret LOS displacement in the context of structural geometry, orientation, expected movement directions, support conditions, temperature effects and other relevant factors.

Where appropriate, satellite-derived displacement trends can be considered together with structural analysis, available inspection information, environmental data and other monitoring observations. This provides an engineering basis for distinguishing expected movement from patterns that may warrant further investigation, targeted monitoring or structural assessment.

03

Engineering interpretation

From satellite observation to engineering insight.

Movement data becomes valuable when it is interpreted in an engineering context. Our objective is to move beyond identifying displacement to understanding whether observed trends are consistent with expected structural and environmental behaviour, whether additional investigation may be warranted, and how monitoring information can support asset-management and engineering decisions.
