Code & Standards Evaluation
Engineering assessment against applicable structural provisions of Canadian and U.S. codes, standards and technical requirements.
Product Evaluation & Code Compliance
Service overview
Ozkan Engineering provides specialized engineering analysis and technical support for the evaluation of building products, structural systems and engineering technologies against applicable Canadian and U.S. codes, standards and technical requirements.
Our role is to examine the structural and engineering aspects of a product or system, identify applicable technical requirements, and develop the calculations, analyses and engineering rationale needed to support an evaluation. Depending on the application, this may include code-based calculations, advanced structural analysis, finite element modelling, interpretation of test results and assessment of structural performance.
We can work with product manufacturers, technology developers, engineering organizations and evaluation bodies to address technically complex questions and develop clear, defensible engineering documentation supporting the evaluation process.
Capabilities
Engineering assessment against applicable structural provisions of Canadian and U.S. codes, standards and technical requirements.
Engineering analysis of building products, structural components and systems to assess performance relative to applicable requirements.
Development of calculations, analytical methods and engineering rationale supporting technical evaluation.
Use of advanced numerical modelling where conventional calculations alone may not adequately characterize structural behaviour or performance.
Engineering interpretation of available experimental results and correlation with analytical or numerical assessment where appropriate.
Development and review of engineering documentation supporting product and system evaluation processes.
Engineering evaluation
Product evaluation often requires more than demonstrating a single calculation. Our approach connects applicable code and standard requirements with engineering analysis, available test evidence and structural behaviour to develop a technically defensible basis for evaluation.
